Goal
Correct the status of a locked routine repair (Closed, terminal), for example to reopen it because the problem comes back. The correction rewrites the status but requires a mandatory reason and is logged.
Audience
Administrator only. A non-admin member does not see the options that force the lock.
Prerequisites
- The repair is Closed (or you want a normally forbidden transition).
- Be an administrator.
Steps
-
Open the Closed repair, click "Edit".
-
Open the "Status" menu: statuses that force the lock are prefixed with an arrow ⤺ (admin only). Choose the desired status.
-
A "Reason for the correction" field (required) appears: "Why was this status wrong?". Enter the justification.

-
Click "Save". A "Status corrected and logged" message appears.
Rewritten AND logged
The correction changes the status, but the trace (old status → new, who, when, reason) is kept in the History tab under "Status corrected (admin)".
Tips and common errors
- Reason required: without a reason, the correction is blocked.
- Same mechanism as work orders: the override also exists on maintenance work orders and major repairs.
